RECENTLY INVITED TO MEET WITH
MASSACHUSETTS CONGRESSMAN JIM McGOVERN

After being introduced to the congressman at his award ceremony in July, the two met to discuss how Kelly's benefit concert series can benefit the Massachusetts community.

WASHINGTON D.C. Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern recently met with WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program) Community Delegate and founder of Music For Mankind® Kelly Moore. The two met in Washington, DC on Wednesday Sept 10.

Congressman McGovern expressed great enthusiasm about Music For Mankind®. Kelly states after the meeting. "I was greatly pleased, honored and impressed with his understanding, knowledge and interest in my efforts."

The office of Jim McGovern feels that global hunger is a resolvable issue. "Hunger is a political condition. the office states. "We have the resources to end hunger; what we need is the political will to make it happen. It is essential that we continue to raise awareness and activism around this critical issue."

Kelly also stated after the meeting how he felt about how the congressman and his staffers were able to help with the cause in the Massachusetts community. "Congressman McGovern is going to bat for us with great energy by contacting colleges and universities in his district to raise awareness about Music For Mankind® and how our efforts are helping feed people all over the world."

In July of 2008, Kelly was invited to an awards ceremony as one of three community delegates for the WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program). "It was an incredible honor to be invited to the Awards Ceremony, and I was thrilled to meet Congressmen McGovern."

Kelly and his ensemble Emerald Dreams recently performed in Waterbury, Vermont at the Rusty Parker Memorial Park on September 19th and shortly after at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont on September 24th. Since its inception in late 2006, contributions from the Music For Mankind® concerts has now fed over 31,000 people.
