Film: Nicaragua on the Ground

This 29-minute film documents Kelly Moore's seven-day trip to the mountains of Nicaragua, where he witnessed first-hand the vast poverty of this country and its contrasts in beauty. While on the trip, he was able to observe the successes of the Friends of the World's School Feeding Program, and meet the children who benefit from the program. Nicaragua – On the Ground also includes interviews with Karen Sendelback, former President/CEO of WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program), and Margot Hoerrner, former Vice-President, Outreach, WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program). Proceeds from the DVD will go to the UN World Food Program – Nicaragua.

Kelly Moore is also founder of Music for Mankind®, a series of benefit concerts featuring Kelly Moore & Emerald Dreams, whose proceeds are contributed to the Friends of the World Food Program and other national and local humanitarian organizations.

Kelly Moore in Nicaragua

Thank you very much for your presentation and the inspiration of your work. The students thoroughly enjoyed hearing your stories and, being an international audience, certainly felt that your initiatives addressed many issues people in their home countries face daily.

I think that bringing these facts to the table is essential, but to actively do something to bring about change is what is needed most. The majority of people are too focused on making their own ends meet and therefore tend not to reach out. Thank you for breaking that cycle and for inspiring others to do the same.
