MANCHESTER VT. With a recession-stressed environment felt across the country, Music For Mankind® founder and Community Delegate for the WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program) Kelly Moore continues to help his local community by preparing to start the 2nd annual Music For Mankind® Charity Food Drive in an effort to aid the Manchester Community Food Cupboard starting April 6th.

The Music For Mankind® Community Charity Drive will hold two Food Drives for the Manchester Community Cupboard in April. MEMS 2008 Food DriveThe first will be with Manchester Elementary Middle School (MEMS) from April 6th through the 10th. The second will be with Maple Street School, a private school in Manchester, from April 20th through the 24th.  Moore will be addressing MEMS on Friday April 3rd followed by a presentation at Maple Street School on April 6th to talk about Music For Mankind®, the Music For Mankind® Charity Drive, the Manchester Community Cupboard, and how the efforts of the students will helps hundreds of families with basic food and living needs through the year.

Maple Street 2008 Food Drive"Last year's food drive was very inspiring" states Moore. "So much was accomplished and it was a great start to helping so many. This year I know the kids are working extra hard making banners and getting ready for the big drive."

In 2008, Kelly Moore approached the two schools with a contest idea in an effort to help the local community.  The two schools combined raised over $3,000 worth of food items.

Moore was recently named a United States Delegate to Peru and traveled to the Andes mountains to see how the efforts of WFP USA (formerly Friends of the World Food Program) had successfully taken shape, and is just as happy to help out locally.  "The differences between Nicaragua and Peru were startling." states Moore.  "I've seen what the difficulties are and how devastating they can be, and I've seen the successes and how inspiring and exciting they are, too. To come home to Vermont and Manchester, and help here in my own community where there is also such a need, and to make a difference like this is an enormous honor for me."

In less than two years, Moore and his organization Music For Mankind ® have been seen on various blogs across the country with interviews coming from WCAX TV's  "Across The Fence", Vermont Public Radio, and has been featured in various local and regional papers for his efforts.  His promotional DVD continues to air nationally on Dish Network and on over 40 Community Access and college television stations around the Northeast.  Efforts from Music For Mankind®  has fed over 30,000 people, 25,000 being children to date, and has raised awareness on a worldwide scale that ending global hunger is an obtainable goal.
